It feels a little weird being out here for a different club, but after the first few minutes of practice, it feels pretty good- I still get excited when I come back to this city, and I’m still gonna visit this city in my off-time and off-season…it’s a good feeling being here.
I think anything that’s talked about you as a player, as a competitive guy in a negative way is gonna motivate you. I still think about things that are said, not only by management, but just people in general, and I think it gives you a little bit more of a spark in you, and I definitely use that motivation in the off-season, and to start the season here with Dallas thus far.
I’ve been looking for something to do for a while here- I talked about it a little bit with Boston last year…I never ended up finding something to do. I had an unfortunate incident with a close friend of mine that I grew up with that’s now a paraplegic- Derrek Moseychuk- and I thought it was a good idea to start something in Dallas regarding the same kind of thing, so it’s generally people that are paraplegics in wheelchairs, and they get to come out to all our home games and I get to meet them after and sign their shirts, so…it’s a thing I just started and I’m looking to do it for my whole career and get a good foundation out of it.
After scoring in the shootout, Tyler Seguin pretends to fist bump his old teammates on his way to the Dallas bench.
